02.10.2026
Dear Parents and Carers, This week’s newsletter will be written by Ahmed (Year 6 School Council Rep) and Mrs Morris as part of a ‘day in your shoes’. Day In Your ShoesToday, all school council members have had a ‘day in the shoes’ of staff members – this included doing tasks that they do and experiencing what they do every day. We have been working alongside the Senior Leadership Team [Mrs Morris, Mr Ascroft and Mrs Fox] ICT Supervisor; Mr Sommers, Office Staff, the Family Team, as well as teaching and support staff. I was Mrs Morris today and I found out her job is to include everyone in learning and making them feel safe and happy.
Quote from Ms Rowland, who is the leader of the school council. ‘We have had this amazing opportunity to do this because students don’t know how much teachers and support staff actually do and how much thinking goes into school. It’s a great experience for the school council.’ Year 4 Trip to Ashmolean MuseumOur Year 4 children are currently at Ashmolean Museum to learn about Ancient Egyptians. The children have been able to see some incredible artefacts up close - including real-life Egyptian mummies! It has been wonderful to hear about their excitement and curiosity as they explore the museum and has brought their classroom learning to life. They have been thoroughly enjoying this special opportunity to experience history first-hand and have represented Stoke brilliantly. What an amazing day of learning and discovery! Lockdown DrillThis week, we carried out a lockdown drill across school. While we hope we will never need to use these procedures for real, it is important that we practise them regularly so that everyone knows what to do and, most importantly, so that we can keep our children and staff as safe as possible. These drills also help us identify and put plans in place for any children who may need additional support or reasonable adjustments during an emergency. We were incredibly proud of how calmly and sensibly the children responded. They were absolutely fantastic! Attendance
Coming Up Next Week…
Thank you, as always for your continued support. It really does make a huge difference to our school and children.
A huge thank you to Ahmed for joining me on Thursday for our ‘Day in Your Shoes’ experience. Ahmed was absolutely amazing and represented the School Council brilliantly. It was so lovely to have the opportunity to share with him some of the work we do across school and to give him an insight into what happens behind the scenes. Ahmed, you were fantastic - thank you for being such a wonderful ambassador for our school!
