Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back!A very warm welcome back to all our children and families! We hope you had a wonderful and restful break and enjoyed some special time together. We are incredibly proud of how brilliantly the children have returned to school — what a first week! They have settled back into routines, embraced their learning and shown such enthusiasm and positivity. It has been fantastic to see everyone back, and we are looking forward to a happy and successful year ahead. AttendanceAs we begin a new school year, we would like to remind families about the importance of regular school attendance. Every day in school is an opportunity for children to learn, make progress, build friendships and develop confidence and independence. Missing even a small number of days can mean missing important learning and experiences, so we ask that children attend school every day and arrive on time whenever possible. Please ensure you notify us each day your child is absent by reporting it through Studybugs. Your support helps us keep our records accurate and ensures we can offer any assistance needed. Working together, we can give every child the best possible chance to thrive. Breakfast ClubWe are delighted to introduce our new FREE Breakfast Club, running every school day from 8:15am. The Breakfast Club provides children with a calm and welcoming start to the school day, giving them the opportunity to enjoy a nutritious breakfast, spend time with friends and get settled before learning begins. A good breakfast can help children feel ready to learn, improve concentration and give them the energy they need for the day ahead. And, as an added bonus, it gets the children out of the house a little earlier and helps parents get to work on time — so it’s a win-win! We hope this new provision will be a great support to our families and help every child get their day off to the best possible start!
Coffee MorningsAs some of you will know, we have previously held SEND Coffee Mornings. We will continue to hold a coffee morning (or perhaps an afternoon!) once every half term – but they are now going to be available to all! At each session, we hope to be joined by a different professional from one of the specialist services we work with, such as:
These sessions are very informal. Our visiting professional will spend a little time explaining what they do, the sorts of things they can help with and some of the ways they support children and schools. There will then be plenty of time for you to ask questions, share experiences or simply have a chat.
And, most importantly, you don't need to have a specific concern or a child with SEND to come along. You might simply be interested in finding out more about how children develop their communication skills, how we support emotional wellbeing, or how to help your child at home. It's simply a chance to meet some of the professionals we work with, find out a little more about what they do, ask questions and meet other parents. We can also arrange interpreters if needed – just let me know! More details will be out soon! Cake SaleWe will be holding a cake sale on Thursday at 3pm on the playground, raising money to help fund Year 5’s upcoming theatre trip. We would be very grateful for any donations of cakes or biscuits to help make the sale a success. So, if you’re able to bake, buy or donate something delicious, we’d love to see you there!
Coming Up Next Week…
A huge thank you to all our families for your continued support. It makes such a difference to our school community, and we really appreciate everything you do to help your children thrive. If there is ever anything we can do to support you or your child, please speak to your class teacher or the school office. We are always here to listen, help and work with you to make sure your child has the very best experience at school.
