Dear Parents and Carers,

Nursery Trip to Hoar Park Farm

Our Nursery children had a wonderful day on their trip to Hoar Park Farm, where they enjoyed getting up close and personal with a variety of farm animals. The children were excited to meet goats, sheep, rabbits and many other friendly animals, learning all about how they are cared for. One of the highlights of the day was feeding the llamas, which was a memorable experience for everyone! The trip provided lots of opportunities for hands-on learning, exploration and developing confidence around animals. The children represented the school beautifully and returned full of smiles and stories to share.

Well Being Walk

This week, it was Key Stage 2s turn to enjoy their weekly Wellbeing Walk in the beautiful sunshine. These walks provide a valuable opportunity for children to spend time outdoors, enjoy some fresh air and connect with classmates they may not usually have the chance to talk with during the school day. As they walk around our school grounds, children are encouraged to chat, reflect and enjoy being active together. The Wellbeing Walk is an important part of our approach to supporting children's emotional wellbeing, helping them to build positive relationships, feel connected to their school community and take time to look after their mental and emotional health.

Reception Parent Meetings

On Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome our new Reception parents and carers to school for our information meeting. It was wonderful to see so many families in attendance, including several who are new to Stoke and the local area. The meeting provided an opportunity to share information about starting school, meet key members of staff and begin building the strong home-school partnership that is so important for children's success. We are looking forward to welcoming our new Reception children in September and supporting them as they begin their exciting journey with us.

HADO

This week, some of our Year 5 and 6 children took part in an exciting HADO competition. HADO is a futuristic sport that combines physical activity with technology, using special headsets and arm bands to create an experience where players can dodge and throw virtual energy balls. The children showed great teamwork, determination and enthusiasm throughout the event. They competed brilliantly, gave every challenge their best shot and represented the school with pride. We are incredibly proud of their positive attitude and willingness to try something new!

Café in the Playground

Following the success of our previous two Café in the Playground events, we are delighted to announce that our final café of the year will be a whole-school event, taking place next Thursday. This time, we would like to extend the invitation to all families across the school. Whether your child attends the Meadow or is in Year 6, you are warmly invited to join us for a drink, a chat and the chance to connect with other members of our school community. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible!

Makaton Sign of the Week

Sign of the week is play. Start with both palms facing upwards and your hands held near your chest. Then, make small circular motions with both hands at the same time, moving them slightly higher with each circle. Always say the word "play" out loud as you do the sign.
