06.11.2026 Dear Parents and Carers, Year 3’s Trip to LondonOn Tuesday, Year 3 travelled to London to visit the Natural History Museum. Seeing the enormous blue whale skeleton was a real highlight, and the earthquake simulator gave the children a chance to experience what it might feel like when the ground starts to shake. We were so proud of the way the children conducted themselves throughout the day. They were fabulous ambassadors for Stoke and had a wonderful time exploring the museum together. A big thank you to parents and carers for your patience and support with the later return to school. We hope you’ve enjoyed hearing all about the trip at home! Meet the ProfessionalsA huge thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us for our Meet the Professionals Coffee Afternoon! We had a fantastic turnout and received some really lovely positive feedback, which was wonderful to hear. It was lovely to bring families and professionals together to share information, build connections and explore the support available at Stoke. We are delighted to announce that this will now become a regular, half-termly event! Each session will feature a different professional delivering a little training, followed by a question-and-answer opportunity, giving families the chance to learn, ask questions and access support. Watch this space for details or our next coffee afternoon! Reflexology TrainingThis week, staff had the opportunity to take part in reflexology training, where we learnt and practised some simple hand relaxation techniques. It was lovely to have some time together to try the techniques for ourselves and talk about how they felt. We’re now looking forward to thinking about whether any of the ideas could be useful in school, particularly at times when children might benefit from a quiet moment to relax. The training gave us plenty to think about, and we’re excited to explore what might work best for our children. Firework SafetyWe hope everyone heading out to see fireworks or celebrating with family and friends this weekend has a lovely time. An organised display is the safest way to enjoy fireworks. If you’re setting them off at home, please follow the instructions on each firework, keep children well back and supervise them closely. Never go back to a firework after it has been lit, even if it hasn’t gone off. If you’re using sparklers, remember that they should never be given to children under five. Older children should wear gloves, hold their sparkler at arm’s length and have an adult close by. Have a bucket of water ready for used sparklers. Happy Diwali! We’d like to wish a very happy Diwali to all our families celebrating this weekend. We hope you have a joyful weekend and enjoy the traditions that make the festival special to your family. We look forward to hearing from the children about how they celebrated and what they enjoyed most when they return to school.
AttendanceHUGE congratulations to Year 4!
