Dear Parents and Carers,

Parent Patch

We’re excited to welcome families to our Parent Patch, a relaxed weekly drop‑in designed to support parents in whatever they need. Trouble logging into BoomReader? Need a hand with uniform? Fancy a coffee and a chat with other parents? Our Parent Community Champions are here to help. Just pop around to the Dining Room at 3pm every Tuesday, starting this Tuesday-stay for five minutes or the whole session. We’d love to see you there.

Parent Communication

We want all our families to feel supported and comfortable. If there’s ever a problem or concern involving your child/ren, please come and speak to us directly-sometimes we don’t see or know everything that has happened during the school day, and a quick conversation can help us put things right. Accidents and misunderstandings do happen, but we kindly ask that parents do not approach other parents at the school gate. Keeping these conversations within school helps everyone feel safe, respected and confident that issues will be handled fairly.

Fidgets

We know that some children like to use fidget toys to help them focus, and when this is genuinely needed, school will provide an appropriate tool for them. These items can quickly become distracting in class, so we monitor their use carefully to make sure they support learning rather than interrupt it. If you feel your child may benefit from a focus tool, please speak to us-we’re always happy to help and want to make sure every child can concentrate and feel comfortable in the classroom.

Year 2 Local Area Walk

Year 2 had a brilliant time on their local area walk this week, exploring the neighbourhood and spotting both human and physical features as part of their geography learning. The children were wonderfully curious, noticing everything from shops and road signs to trees, parks and natural landmarks. They even tied their walk in with a visit to the Specials Museum, which linked perfectly with their music topic and gave them a chance to see instruments and local history up close. A huge well done to Year 2 for their fantastic behaviour, super observations and enthusiastic learning throughout their adventure.

Year 5 Trip to the theatre

Year 5 had a fantastic day at the Playbox Theatre, where they watched an exciting performance of Percy Jackson. The children were completely absorbed in the story, loved seeing the characters brought to life on stage, and showed brilliant behaviour throughout the trip. They represented Stoke Primary beautifully and did us proud with their enthusiasm, maturity and excellent manners. Well done, Year 5- what a wonderful experience to kick‑start your learning.
