Dear Parents and Carers,
Year 1 Beach TripOur Year 1 children had a fantastic time on their beach trip to Weston-Super-Mare this week. They thoroughly enjoyed riding the donkeys, tucking into delicious ice creams and chips, and spending time playing together on the beach. It was a wonderful day full of smiles, laughter and special memories. A huge thank you to all of the staff and volunteers who helped make the trip such a success. We're sure there were lots of very tired children who slept well that night after such an exciting adventure!
Reception Stay and Play SessionsIt was a pleasure to welcome so many of our new Reception children and their parents to our Stay and Play sessions this week. These sessions gave families a wonderful opportunity to experience a taste of what school life will be like when the children start with us in September. It was lovely to see so many parents joining in with the activities, exploring the classroom and meeting our Reception team. We hope everyone enjoyed the sessions and that they have helped the children feel excited and confident about starting their school journey with us.
TransitionsAs we approach the end of the school year, we know that many of our children will be preparing for an exciting new chapter. Whether your child is moving up to the next year group, starting their journey with us in Reception, or taking the big step to secondary school, we are committed to making their transition as smooth and positive as possible. Our annual Transition Week will be taking place soon, and we have already begun supporting some children through informal visits and opportunities to meet the adults who will be working with them next year. Every child is different, and we understand that change can bring a mixture of excitement and uncertainty. If you have any concerns about your child's transition, please do get in touch with us. We are here to support both you and your child every step of the way.
Weather reminderThis week has certainly reminded us how unpredictable the British weather can be, with some extremely hot temperatures! We have been incredibly proud of how well our children have coped with the heat, showing resilience, listening carefully to staff and adapting brilliantly to changes in the school day to help keep everyone safe and comfortable. As we continue through the warmer months, please ensure your child comes to school in full school uniform each day, wearing weather-appropriate clothing. We kindly ask that all children bring a named sun hat and have sun cream applied before arriving at school, as staff are unable to reapply it during the day. It is also essential that every child brings a named water bottle so they can stay hydrated while learning and playing. Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep our children safe, happy and ready to enjoy every school day, whatever the weather brings.
Makaton Sign of the WeekSign of the week is ILL. Extend your little finger and move it slowly down the centre of your chest. Always say the word "ill" out loud as you do the sign.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday for more exciting learning and memorable experiences!
